How You Can Make Space In Your Home When You Recycle
April 30th, 2012Spring time is upon us and this is the time of year when a lot of people will choose to freshen up the home. It was traditionally known as the spring-clean, when the premise was that after the winter months, it was time to clear out cupboards and wardrobes. Items which had been there since the last spring-clean and hadn’t been used or worn in the last twelve months were thrown or given away.
Unfortunately the majority of us can’t afford to buy new furniture on a regular basis. It is important for many of us to ensure that our homes look good and that we don’t lose interest. Sometimes changing accessories in a room will make a difference, but the major problem with that idea is the hoarding of items which have been accumulated over the past ten years.
During the summer months, there are many fetes held in villages around the country. It is possible to donate unwanted items to these events which will mean you can get rid of things while also helping out the community.
These events are also an ideal place to find a number of items for your home. Most of the items given to a local event are in excellent condition and look like new. If you don’t have a lot of spare cash, then you can find what you need for the home at a bargain price and you can also get rid of items that you don’t want, freeing up space in your home.
Even small groups of mothers recycle furniture in their own unique way by passing it from one home to another. This is something that will work really well if the group have similar tastes and are of the same age. The great thing about this is that the group gets a lot of enjoyment and the furniture will have a much longer life; best of all, it doesn’t cost anyone a penny.
In the case of most modern furniture, nothing beats white. Therefore, if ever you are moving home and need to upgrade furniture, or are just thinking about changing things around, a white bedside table or even a white dressing table can be just the ticket.
